Rick Amendola, APTR President & Head of Rentals, Sales & Service, began buying tents out of necessity in his "auctioneering" days, back in 1972. He began American Party Tent Rentals, which he owned and operated until 1979, when he sold the business and moved west.  The new owner moved American Tent to Asheville, NC in 1984. Rick moved from Reno, Nevada to Asheville in 1985 and bought the business back. This is a man who LOVES TENTS! Rick is the man who'll answer "those plaguing" questions, figure out how we'll actually get the tents in those interesting spots you've chosen, and fit you with all the right equipment for your particular needs.

Dean Olsen, APTR Vice President & Head of Field Operations, was minding his own business in Reno, Nevada back in 1986, when he received a phone call from a friend who'd recently moved to North Carolina and was busy building a Tent Rental business. In the spring of 1987, Dean moved his family east - lock, stock & barrel. A partnership was formed and American Tent Rentals, Inc. was born. Dean is the man who delivers your tents to you on schedule and gets them set-up and looking magnificent. He controls all warehouse operations, equipment maintenance and manages our crew of experienced tent mechanics.

Barbara Howe, APTR Secretary and office manager, a "southernized New-Yorker", brings to the office her expertise as a professional chef, caterer and party planner, as well as her many years of experience in front-line business management and as a director of human resources. Barbara will quickly size you up for the proper fit for your event and will be happy to provide you with important preliminary planning advice as well!

Elizabeth Brown (an honest-to-goodness native Carolinian!) is the hub of daily office operations. She'll likely be the first person you encounter when contacting us. She'll answer questions, give price quotes, schedule appointments, generate contracts and provide our team with the information they need to give you the quality service you deserve. Is it boasting to say we're the friendliest office in the South?

Johnny McGlasson and Lewis Smith are permanent full-time tent mechanics who have both been with APTR for several years. They are integral members of our team who take great pride in their job responsibility and professional experience. Seasonal regulars and part-time workers round out our well -trained crew.
